Expert Answers about Chevrolet Boat Trailer Parts

  • What Is Weight Capacity Of Yates Keel Roller For Boat Trailers
  • I called my contact at Yates Rubber and asked about the Keel Roller for Boat Trailers, part # YR1200Y. They told me that the weight capacity is 400 lbs. They also said that they are typically used to help as a guide and the bunks normally handle the bulk of the boat and motor weight. I recommend roller bunks like part # DL21741. These are 5 ft long roller bunks that can be attached to your wooden bunks on the trailer or attached to the trailer frame. These roller bunks have a weight capacity...

  • Does CE Smith Bolster Assembly for Boat Trailers, part # CE10000G-4 have Weight Capacity
  • I spoke with my contact at CE Smith, and they said the Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assembly for Boat Trailers, part # CE10000G-4, do not bear the weight of the boat. The U-bolt that attaches the brackets to the trailer frame support the weight of the boat more than anything so these do not have a stated weight capacity. Your 4,000 lb boat would not be an issue for these brackets at all.

To install them, you'll also need some roller bunk brackets, part # DL21742.

  • Trailer Wheel Bolt Pattern and Pilot Hole Diameter of Wheels on Ranger Boat Trailer
  • I spoke to the trailer specialist at Ranger Boats and the trailer supplied with their RT178 bass boat usually is fitted with 13-inch wheels that have the popular 5-on-4-1/2 wheel bolt pattern and a wheel pilot hole diameter of 3.19-inches as with the Hi-Spec # AM22323HWTB . He was not able to confirm the hub bore diameter which is where a grease cap or Bearing Buddy would install but the most common size is 1.98-inches. He said that since it is possible that a local dealer may change...

  • Lift Capability of Dutton-Lainson Strong Arm Electric Winch Part # DL25200
  • Assuming that your trailer has bunk rollers instead of boards, the Dutton-Lainson Strong Arm Electric Winch, part # DL25200 should be able to handle that 2500 lb boat with no problem. If the trailer just has boards, the resistance they would cause against the bottom of the boat would limit the capacity of the winch. I have included a link to the instructions for you to review.

  • What Does it Mean when a Trailer Light is Listed as Waterproof or Submersible
  • When it comes to trailer taillights the terms waterproof and submersible are somewhat interchangeable. If a taillight is considered submersible that means that the internal circuits are waterproof and would be protected for if you were to back the trailer into water like when launching a boat. The part # TLL56RK that you referenced is listed as waterproof and submersible so it would work great on a boat trailer. Lights that aren't waterproof or submersible will still work just fine on...

  • How To Measure Roller Shaft Size For Wobble Roller on 2006 LoadRite Boat Trailer
  • On the shaft of your LoadRite boat trailer you will want to measure the diameter of the shaft at the widest point, which is probably the top to bottom of the curved part of the shaft. It should measure 1-1/8 inches for the Yates TPR Ribbed Wobble Roller, part # YR500YW-9P, to fit. If you have access to a roller that was on the shaft of the LoadRite boat trailer you will want to measure the diameter of the center hole of the roller and the width and diameter of the roller to help determine...

  • Weight Capacity of the CE Smith Winch Stand Part # CE31013G

  • Weight Capacity of Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Part # FHDPB330301
  • I have spoken with one of our contacts at Fulton, who tell me that exceeding that 5000 lb capacity is NOT recommended. The Fold-Away kit is designed for a static weight of up to 5000 lbs, but that figure can be momentarily exceeded each time you hit a bump or a pothole. I would recommend taking your boat to a truck scale to verify the actual weight of the boat and trailer. If you find that you are under the 5000 lb figure, the Fulton Fold-Away kit would work very well for you.
